Jayaraman S

Jayaraman has been a banker for the past four decades, having worked with banks in India, Gulf Region and the UK. Until 2019 he was CEO of a small-sized bank in Mumbai. Since then, he has moved on to helping banks to transform themselves, through his consultancy firm Bank-On-Us. He has also been training professional bankers and students, through his training & mentoring institution - School of Banking.

During his career,  Jayaraman has gained expertise in Retail Banking as well as NRI business verticals. Jayaraman was in the GCC Region for many years, for the development of NRI & Remittance in UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait & Qatar. He has assisted in setting up an online remittance channel for the Indian diaspora in the US, UK and Canada. He also has an in-depth knowledge of the digital banking & payment landscape. He has held fit and proper credentials both in India and the UK.

Having led many bankers over his career, Jayaraman has motivated hundreds of junior and middle-level officers at various banks to create a talent pool of bankers well-versed in Business Development, Sales, Customer Service, Compliance, Audit, Inspection, Wealth Management, NRI relationship, Operations, SME lending, Assessment of loan proposals, Documentation, Foreign Exchange, Digital Banking & Fee Income products.

He has worked with banks such as the United Bank of India, HSBC, Standard Chartered in the GCC region, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and IDBI Bank. He has helped shadow banks by improving their internal processes, products and people. He is rated high by the management of these banks. 

 

He is a graduate in Commerce from the University of Mumbai & Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
